Wardend is just 4 ½ miles South of Elgin and the fishery has been located in a quiet sheltered valley where the constructed loch extends to almost five acres and has a spring fed water supply.
The main loch is stocked on a regular basis to maintain good catch levels with fish from 2 – 5lbs and there are reports of over wintered fish to 8lbs having been released.
The clear spring water will provide an angling challenge and considerable new landscape planting will increasingly supplement natural fly and insect life. It is expected that buzzers and nymphs will be the method of choice and top of the water sport will excel in the warmer weather. The clear water means winter nymphing is great, though more challenging.
Depths range from 5-11 feet and a floating line covers most situations
